Sall TØRV (peated) 3Y – 55.5%

Sall Whisky Distillery has released their first bottling in the “TØRV” (peated) series, which is 3 years old and bottled at 55.5% and aged in Ex-Bourbon casks.

As Sall himself writes:
We have been really looking forward to presenting the first “TØRV” in our new series. The whisky is refined from barley from Lars’ fields. The barley malt is peat-smoked with peat from our friends in Moseby. A fantastically nice smoked Single Malt and Single Farm Whisky with a wonderful sweetness from the malt and the exquisite ex-bourbon casks. The smoke is integrated into the whisky, but at the same time quite distinct and very inviting. TØRV 2.1 has a smoke profile exactly as we wanted (hello Islay!), and a nice strength of 55.5% ABV in our 70 cl. bottles.

 We have missed a Danish whisky which is not just smoked, but peat smoked, where the smoke is also a large part of the whisky, and not just a background note that you must look for. At the same time, we want the smoke to be an integral part of the whisky and not a smoke bomb.

 And now we present: TØRV 2.1. A truly beautiful peat-smoked whisky bottled at a whopping 55.5% ABV in 70 cl. bottles, and as I said the first in our TØRV series. Lars has sown and harvested the malt barley himself, just 5 kilometers from the distillery. And we have helped extract the peat with a bog guild in Moseby in North Jutland.
