Now that our “Secret Speyside” (M*****an) has turned 30 years old, we have had it bottled, at full cask strength of 49.2%. We must not write the distillery name here on the shop or on the bottles themselves, which is why we have written “UISGE-BEATHA ROLLS ROYCE” on the label. As loosely translated means, “The Rolls Royce of Whisky”. The distillery where this whisky is produced is located in the Speyside region, and belongs to whisky group A. Another small hint as to which distillery is in question is: Which Vintage from 1962 did Daniel Craig as Agent 007 drink. Furthermore, the distillery today distills about 15 million liters of newmake.
A fresh breeze of a fine sherry sweetness and spices comes to one’s nose.
120 bottles have been bottled, at a cask strength of 49.2%. Before bottling the cask, we resold 92 bottles, therefore we ONLY have 28 bottles for sale now with our own label on.
The bottle with this exquisite Secret Speyside 30 years on cask strength, comes in a nicely constructed bamboo wooden box. The box is with brass hinges and magnet closure, as well as pressure of the content, on the front of the lid.
We purchased the cask in 2018. At that time, we bottled 72 bottles (26 years old) from the cask, to be able to have the rest poured into a 1st Fill PX Quarter Cask. The 72 bottles that were bottled in 2018 were bottled at full cask strength, which at the time was 51.3%.
