Here you have the opportunity to buy a cask share and be part of a cask of whisky from North British from 1989, which will be 38 years old when bottled in 2027.
By purchasing a cask share in this cask, you secure 2 full bottles (2 x 70cl) when the cask is expected to be bottled in September 2027. Should a cask sample show that the cask is not ready to be bottled, the bottling will be postponed for a year. But we are quite sure that the cask will be ready for bottling in 2027.
The whisky has been and continues to be on a Refill Barrel (approx. 180L from the start), where it will remain until it is bottled at cask strength. The North British distillery is located in the Scottish Lowlands region, where the vast majority of Grain distilleries are located. The distillery produces approx. 73 million liters of alcohol per year on their three Coffey Stills. The North British distillery is owned by the two big giants, Diago and Edrington. When North British fills their casks, it is done at 68.6% ABV.
The cask was measured in December 2020, when the alcohol content was 46.3%. The first cask sample we have received is at 46.1%, which is quite good after 35 years in cask. We expect that there will be approximately 230 bottles (70cl) of the cask when it is bottled in 2027 at a cask strength of approximately 45%.
If you come by our store, you can, as always, taste the cask sample from this cask. There is also the option to order a cask sample here on the site.
