Dumbarton 21Y – 58.6%
From the closed distillery called Dumbarton, Claxton has bottled a 21-year-old Single Grain Whisky. The whisky is bottled at full cask strength of 58.6% and is not cold filtered or colored. It has therefore come directly into bottles from the cask, only filtered through a fine-mesh filter, to remove the worst barrel residues etc.
The now closed Dumbarton distillery was in the Scottish Lowlands region. The distillery shut down there production in 2002, and in 2017 the last sign that there has been a distillery was demolished.
