Peated Blended Malt (2nd Fill) 6Y – 59.7%
This Peated Blended Malt, which has been given a finish on a 2nd Fill Oloroso Sherry Octave fad, has been sold as cask shares (092), where we have saved some bottles for the shop.
The Octave cask on which the whisky is placed has previously been used for our Glenrothes 11 years, which was bottled on May 23th, 2023. The Octave cask here, was filled on July 4, 2023, with whisky from the original Refill Hogshead of this Blended Malt Scotch Whisky.
We have one more cask of this Peated Blended Malt, whether it also comes with a finish on the 2nd Fill Oloroso Sherry Octave is not yet known. But it will come in cask shares at a later date.
We are not allowed to write which distillery this whisky comes from, due to rights from the distillery. But can say it comes from a distillery that has existed since 1815 and which is the most eastern distillery on the south side of Islay. It is an ‘air’ T-spooned whisky, and it originally comes from a refill Hogshead. The distillery, has previously (1998) released a 6-year edition, which was one of four in their series 🥃
